Товары, у которых коэффициент эластичности спроса от цен больше единицы. Снижение цен на такие товары, если, разумеется, есть возможность увеличить их выпуск, не только не сокращает, а, напротив, часто увеличивает доходы производителя в результате расширения их продажи. Аналогичный, но с обратным знаком, результат — при повышении цен. Эластичность данного товара не есть, однако, неотъемлемое его свойство: она может меняться в зависимости от условий.

Товары, у которых коэффициент эластичности спроса от цен ниже единицы. Снижение цен на такие товары выгодно покупателям. Но для производителя это приводит только к сокращению доходов, поскольку продажа остается примерно на прежнем уровне.
